About the Author

Dr. Harold W. Baillie is the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Scranton. He has been a visiting professor at a variety of international universities, including the University of Trnava, Slovakia, the State Medical University in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, and Capital University of Economics and Business, Beijing, China. Domestically, he has been a visiting professor at the Yale University School of Medicine, and Ashland University. He is a co-author of the book Health Care Ethics: Principles and Problems, and co-editor, and contributing author, of Is Human Nature Obsolete? Genetics, Bioengineering and the Human Condition, from The MIT Press. He has authored articles on subjects ranging from healthcare ethics to metaphysics and political philosophy, and currently works as a medical ethics consultant with several local health care facilities. He received his A.B. from Yale University, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Boston College.

John F. McGeehan, MD, is the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Admissions at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU). Prior to joining CMSRU, Dr. McGeehan participated in the development of another new medical school, The Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton, PA. where, among many roles, he was course director for The Profession of Medicine in which he taught medical ethics. He has also been a course director at Temple University School of Medicine, and was Director of Medical Education and Chair of the Department of Medicine at Mercy Hospital in Scranton.

Dr. McGeehan received his MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital. He created the Ethics Committee at Mercy Hospital in Scranton which he chaired for many years and currently is on the Ethics Committee at Cooper University Hospital where he does ethics consults.

Unveiling Love

Oh my! What a rollercoaster ride, Barrington and Amora take you through a wide range of emotions. At times I was angry at them and at times I wanted to scream at them. But you still feel the love they have for each other, even though mistrust is prevalent and seeking to destroy them. You will also see how fear can keep someone in bondage and cause someone to make decisions that are detrimental to them. They have so many misconceptions about each other, but there is hope. Barrington needs to keep trusting, depending and seeking God for his marriage. His simple prayers are amazing. Amora needs to realize that she is one of God's precious gems, she may see herself as damaged goods, but God sees His princess. An amazing story, I love books that feature married couples and how they overcome the things that try to destroy them.

Barrington and Amora are back! Vanessa Riley never disappoints me! She gives you a great love story with suspense!! Her characters are so complex but relatable, how she does that I have no idea LOL The couple are at a crossroads, It's s like they reverse roles since the 1st book. Amora to me was lost, hurt, damaged which is understandable but in this book she her insecurities made me want to shake her. In the first book you see a little bit of fire in her trying to break through but this 2nd book it shows up and disappears so quick you can't enjoy the real Amora! New characters are introduced with the old and I can honestly say I have no idea what to expect which makes Vanessa Riley an awesome writer in my opinion. But my favorite character would have to be Barrington, he is funny and confident in his abilities Except when it comes to his wife! He disguises his wounds way better than Amora but they are there and they are deep! I can not wait to see what happens next... Barrington has got me scared LOL... Because I am clueless on who he and Amora can trust....I received this book free from Gallium Optronics Publishing as part of their Book Review program in exchange for a honest review. Unveiling Love: A Regency Romance (A London Regency Romantic Suspense Tale Book 2) written by Vanessa Riley, is a great second episode to this series. We are following Amora and Barrington Norton through the struggles that they finally figured out they had in the first episode and now Amora has come to the point that she is tired of fighting for her marriage and her sanity, but Barrington wants to fight enough for both of them. Can they actually make this work? I wanted to reach into the book and cheer them on while they endure each day of struggles. Can’t wait to read the next episode of this story and find out how they end up and if this monster who has caused these problems is finally caught or if they will have to deal with these struggles the rest of their married life. I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review.

Am orphaned boy who lives with his uncle finds out that his life is going to change from one of wealth to the working class. His uncle claims the boy's father's money ran out. Kit doesn't understand how.
He decides to join the circus instead of being put in to the apprenticeship that his uncle set upfor him .Learns things while away. Confronts his uncle after the circus tour is done.

About the Author

Angela Myles Beeching directs the New England Conservatory Career Services Center, a comprehensive career resource office, internationally recognized as a model of its kind. Ms. Beeching has presented workshops for Chamber Music America, Eastman School of Music, the University of Kentucky, Boston University, and University of Texas, Austin. Since 1997 she has designed and facilitated the annual Young Performers Career Advancement seminar for the Association of Performing Arts Presenters conferences. Her articles on career issues have appeared in the National Business Employment Weekly, Inside Arts, Chamber Music magazine, and in Managing Your Career, published by the Dow Jones. She co-chairs the annual conference of the Network of Music Career Development Officers, a group dedicated to improving music career development services.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Beeching taught cello at California State University, Fresno, and at the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam. A Fulbright Scholar and Harriet Hale Woolley grant recipient, Ms. Beeching also received fellowships at Banff and Tanglewood Music Center. An alumnus of Boston University and New England Conservatory, she holds a doctorate in cello performance from SUNY Stony Brook.

An excellent resource for the avid musician!

I was required to read this in a music business class in college. In reading chapter to chapter. I found the book to be an amazing read! Beeching discuses the necessities of having a successful and rewarding music career in any given field from constructing a resume to marketing and displaying your talent through media presence to audience environment to preparing how to prepare for a given music job, and so on. Her chapters provide easy reading and give what I call (break points) so I don't have to read 50 pages just to get to a point where I can safely stop reading. I strongly recommend this book to the avid musician or for anyone who is greatly considering a music career!

The Go-To Business Guide for Aspiring and Professional Musicians

This book is a wonderful crash course and reference guide to making it as a freelance musician. I consider this a must-have for any professional or aspiring professional musician. As somebody who has been to multiple music schools, and who makes a living as a violinist, I have to say that the information in this book is just as important to a successful music career as is playing your instrument well... BUT! This is the stuff they never teach you in music school.

Some topics off the top of my head: How to write a business letter; How to create a website; How to create business cards; How to record a demo CD; How to network; How to fundraise; How to get promotional photos... you get the idea.

I loaned this book out to another musician friend. He liked it so much that instead of shipping mine back to me, he ordered me a new one and kept a copy for himself. I got this book in much the same way — I checked it out from the library, and liked it so much, that I bought a copy for myself. Well worth it, and I've never seen a better book of its kind.

I know you can highlight the Kindle version but I think I'm going to invest in the print version of this too. It's that good. I wish I'd read this whilst I was in music college. It really does cover everything. And I do mean everything. There's loads of information here.

It should be required reading for anyone studying music at a tertiary level who desires a career in music. Ms Beeching has created a brilliant resource.If your serious about about having a successful music career, this book is an absolute must!.

Great for unblocking

I used this book for a poetry workshop as exercises to create new connections. People really liked the exercises and most felt it loosened up their creativity. I only wish there were more games. I was going to have the workshops once a quarter but everyone wanted one next month so I guess they liked it!

Want to know Surrealism? Start here!

I have to give the book high marks, not for the purpose I bought it for (fun party games) but for how much I learned about the Surrealist movement through reading it.

What you will find here is a series of exercises and games and thought experiments that will help you breakdown reason and challenge assumption. Certainly one can see the effectiveness of such pastimes among a group of committed revolutionaries, like those who arose in the 1920's.

In our era, Surrealism has been distilled into Dali prints hung on 20-something walls (I have been guilty) and there is little understanding of what Breton and Ernst and the others were trying to say and to accomplish.

This book is worth a look, if you want to understand, or remember that understanding is pale and sickly, when objects are simply taken at their word.

Surrealism is not my favorite art movement, but perhaps it should be. Thoroughly anti-bourgeois, but not proletarian, Surrealism reflects my values back at me and asks me to deconstruct them.

About the Author

Gwo-Hshiung Tzeng is a Distinguished Chair Professor of Kainan University, Taiwan. He received a Bachelor’s degree in business management from the Tatung Institute of Technology (1967); a Master’s degree in urban planning from Chung Hsing University (1971); and a PhD in management science from Osaka University, Japan (1977). His current research interests include statistics, multivariate analysis, networks, routing and scheduling, multiple criteria decision making, fuzzy theory, hierarchical structure analysis for application to technology management, energy, environment, transportation systems, transportation investment, logistics, location, urban planning, tourism, technology management, electronic commerce, and global supply chains. He is editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Operations Research and the International Journal of Information Systems for Logistics and Management, among others.

Jih-Jeng Huang is currently Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Information Management at Soochow University, Taiwan, and teaches research method, multivariate analysis, and capital asset and pricing models, among others. He received his PhD in Information Management from the National Taiwan University. His current research interests include multiple criteria decision making, knowledge management, behavioral economics and finance, and data analysis. He has published on these interests widely in journals and conference proceedings.
